Tbilisi - Kakheti - Mtskheta

 

Day 1. Tbilisi

 Forbes Magazine included Tbilisi in its list of the most interesting destinations for travel this summer and it's no accident!

Arrival in Tbilisi. The driver of the company will meet you and take you to the hotel. Then an hour after the settlement, an information cocktail. During which you will learn everything necessary for a comfortable and safe stay in Georgia. As well as we will thoroughly acquaint ourselves with the program provided by our company for all the holidays.

If after the flight you have a desire to walk, we can arrange a preliminary walk around the city. Overnight at hotel in Tbilisi.

 

Day 2. Kakheti

 Breakfast. Travel to Kakheti, the birthplace of winemaking. From Tbilisi to the capital of the region of the city of Telavi lies a beautiful serpentine - the Gombor Pass. On the way we will stop in the village of Vardisubani and visit the house of the family of manufacturers of Kvevri-clay vessels for traditional Georgian winemaking. Then we will arrive in Tel Aviv, the capital of Kakheti. Here the shooting of the legendary film "Mimino" took place, in which the monument to Irakli II is depicted, where we will stop for a memorable photo. In Telavi, you will have dinner with a tasting of Georgian cheeses. Departure to Tsinandali, where the residence of Prince Chavchavadze is located, father-in-law of Russian writer Alexander Griboyedov. The estate is rich in a luxurious English park and a collection of Georgia's oldest wines: in the cellars of Tsinandali, wines from the 40s of the 19th century are kept. At the end of the day, a trip to the "Wine Cellar of the Twins" in the village of Napareuli, where the wine is made in the traditional Georgian way, keeping it in clay pots of Kvevri, the production of which you will already be familiar from visiting Vardisubani. Here you will have a unique opportunity to participate in the preparation of Georgian bread puri, churchchella, as well as gather and crush the grapes (August-October). Wine tasting. Return to Tbilisi, overnight at the hotel.

 

Day 3. Mtskheta

 Breakfast. A trip to the ancient capital of Georgia - Mtskheta, a picturesque city museum (UNESCO), founded in the 5th century BC. By the number of churches it is called "The Second Jerusalem". Sightseeing of the main sights: the Church of the Holy Cross (Javari), the 4th century, Svetitskhoveli Cathedral - the 11th century, one of the main cathedrals of the Georgian Orthodox Church, in the place of which, according to legend, the chiton of Christ was buried and the cedar that became sacred. Samtavro is also located here (the first half of the 11th century), the oldest working women's monastery, the Shio-Mgvim Monastery, a 6th-century mountain man's monastery, famous for its cave dug-out by the hands of monks.
